Congress needs to restore our nation’s economy by working together to reduce the federal deficit with a goal towards balancing the budget. Getting on the path toward fiscal health will restore certainty and build confidence in the marketplace. By getting spending under control we can restore our nation’s bond rating to AAA. The higher bond rating will reduce costs for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges and levies and encourage investment in America and businesses to grow and add jobs.
Moreover, if Congress can't make spending and budget decisions on time, then members of Congress shouldn't be paid on time. It's simple: no budget - no pay.
Under Linda's leadership, Ventura County raised its bond rating, eliminated a structural deficit (that occurred prior to her term), and balanced the County budget, including establishing a growing reserve.
